Has anyone ever formed/created a Condo Assoc Alliance/Amalgamation of various condo associations for the purpose of negotiating multiple repair contracts for the similar work by a single contractor (in other words...bulk repairs ((roofs, siding, brickwork, street and driveway paving)). Also for having a say in community (town/village) developments and infrastructure? For example things that I have found on the web To provide non-partisan, unified front and voice to federal, state and county elected officials for the betterment of its citizens. To cooperate with these officials to build a community that will serve the best interests of all residents. To address areas such as traffic control, road building, traffic lights, health care, commercial and residential development, emergency medical services are just a few of the important subjects that the Alliance pursues with government agencies and officials). The concept is to have enough condo owners represented that they can influence repair cosots and community infrastructure.

Does it have to be very structured or can it just be an affiliation structure?

No, but I have contacted other HOAs in my area to exchange info. It is a good way to get info on management companies, get manuals for water or lighting systems that are similar to yours and all kinds of other info.

I would be very careful, this my be considered price fixing. The way you set up the purchasing organization needs to be carefully set up and operated.
