We have a number of vacant lots that are not taken care of. Lot owners are not cutting down weeds. What can be done?

Read your governing documents for potential remedies.

You could also contact someone in your municipality's zoning enforcement arm to see if there is some means of reporting those properties to city officials who will then send inspectors and possibly issue fines, etc.

Sandy if you live in Canton, Oh they can even go to jail for not maintaining their lot. Canton passed an ordinance last year that if you receive a second high-grass violation you can face a $250.00 fine and 30 days in the hoosegow.

Studies show that 5 out of 4 people have problems with fractions

Grass Violation at an HOA - $250
Grass (illegal marijuana violation) from local police - $50

Hehe.... just something I pondered..... I guess grass that is too tall is worse than criminal activity.
