Dear Mary

You might remember me, I was complaining about our Ombudsman/BAC running around to all the homes getting proxy's ... He is a vendor (making big bucks) as well as a homeowner ...... You told me it was not illegal, but certainly unethical, and also "conflict of interest"

He was a busy man last month, out of 575 homes he was able to collect almost 80 proxy's for his candidates. As usual most owners don't take the time to look into who to vote for, it's much easier to sign a proxy, and be done with it. We didn't even need any proxy's, as we had a quorum with the mailin ballots. So he worked very hard for nothing. However the proxy's were used in the count.

WELL...... The election was last Tuesday night and our candidate "WON" which means we will have three conservative board members now. And can get something done. I had sent out two mailings to the owners introducing our candidate, the other side sent out one mailing calling me a "penny pincher" I considered that a compliment (it wasn't meant as one)

It always feels so good to "WIN" especally when the other side cheats, and lose's anyway.

I would like to share a poem one of my supporters wrote to me (I was flattered)

It was the bottom of the ninth,
We desperately needed a clincher.
Who steps to the plate,
Why it's the "penny pincher".

Frail in the body,
But strong of mind.
There's not many to be found,
That match her kind.

She sets her mind to a job,
Doesn't worry about fancy.
This all goes to describe,
Our lady champion, Nancy.

She speaks her mind,
And is no one's pawn.
Counting on her best supporter,
This trooper called, Don.

The Coast is lucky to have her,
that's easy to see.
We salute you Nancy,
For getting us, "Dee"

Thanks Mary, for all your help ... Here's hoping for some good changes this next year...

P.S. My husbands name is "Don", and is my best supporter.

Hi Nancy,

I'm so glad you shared this wonderful story with us. It's always good to hear when the "good guys" win. Hopefully those 3 conservative board members will see fit to get rid of the Ombudsman position.

I'm sure you were deeply touched with the poem. Print it out and put it in a frame. BTW, it needs a title; how about "Penny Pincher". You may have a nickname for life! LOL

Take care. . .
