one owner (who, by the way has been a serious trouble maker for years), accused our manager and / or maintenance
man of stealing a handgun from his unit. the owner was on
vacation for a week and in his absence had agreed to some
work done in his bathroom. our manager and maintenance man are very honest and upstanding and would submit freely to a lie detector test. the police were called and they are assigning a detective to the case. now the homeowner acts like he may have acted in haste, tho he still says that the gun is missing. i think he may be afraid of an investigation because of his past history - but knowing that we are not at fault, we want the investigation to continue - anyone have any experience with complaints of this sort? i am in texas

paul is right... let the police do their job, and hopefully, right will out.

this is also a reminder to check your insurance policies, and potentially, your bonds (if you have them). Use this as a mental check to make sure you are covered for future items of a similar nature.
