The original condo company was purchased by another company. There are only two buildings built of estimated 9. There are warranty problems and the blame game has started. This is a new condo complex, the weather has left some new condo owners w/ no not water and not heat because the pvc piping on the roof is not tall enough, but the builder said its built to code "minimum 12" extension from the roof top/shingles. No one wants to fix this, additionally for the past 6 months excuses about why the warranty deptartment does not get back to the tennants in a timely manner (as stated in phone message 24 - 48 hours)is because they don't have enough people. Since most of us are new to condo living, I would like to know what type of recourse we have or get suggestions. Additionally, we've all been shown a picture of a pool that is of normal size for a complex and what they are building is a "U" shaped wading pool. The builder is working on the "U" shaped pool instead of the club house. The pool will not be big enough for the 9 buildings estimated to be built. During our first Condo Annual meeting (w/only one building sold) we were told by the board of directors the club house would be finished by February 2010. Now they are saying the club house is not going to be done for a while because of the weather and the company transition. The shell of the condo club house is built, the windows are in, the doors are not. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we should do? Emailing the companies has not produced any result. Thank you

Terry, you and your neighbors should get together and hire an attorney who specializes in real estate law to protect your interests. I would also get everyone to file complaints with the building department and zoning authority regarding the changes and building deficits. If that gets no action then I would start bombarding your city council or county trustees and ask them to look into it. Oh and if people are not registered to vote I would strongly encourage them to, politicians might look to business people for donations but they fear a ticked off electorate who might cause trouble more.

Studies show that 5 out of 4 people have problems with fractions

Terry,
Who is the BOD? Work with them if you can. If you can't protect your interests as an investor or a group of investors. Frankly, it will be likely you all are going to be in for a fight, it happens all the time. What you all need to do is operate as a group, with the developer or whithout them.
Protect yourself.
Glen is right.
