Our governing docs for our FL HOA don't say that guests can't attend our annual meeting. Does the current BOD have the right to refuse to let guests attend our annual meeting?

Stacy,

Why are they guests?--Seasonal, friends of members, neighboring communities?

I see no problems with it as long as they sit beyond the membership seating and do not participate in any way, what harm can they do. Maybe they are prospective buyers? That might be a good reason to let them watch.

Stacy,

I cannot imagine why anyone other than a member would want to attend; however, I see no good reason why a guest cannot attend. As long as they know they don't have a say in anything that is discussed and they must just sit quietly and listen. I don't believe they have to sit apart from the membership. I see no problem with a guest sitting next to the person who he came with.

Probably OK unless it is motioned and passed to close the meeting to members, only.

I, myself, consider annual meetings to be for members only.
