I Just posted a reply about 2 members argueing about something as they stood around the HOA pool. Gads! Let's find these guys something better to do.

Anyhow, my Husbands small S. Florida Solar outdoor lighting company wanted to help the poor people of Haiti so they called in the 14 people who assemble the light systems on their day off. They built $440,000 worth of parking light systems to send to Haiti but there was no way that they could get them there.

Someone knew someone else with a 44 foot catamaran who generously will loan his boat out to be loaded with light systems and will sail it to Haiti tomorrow. --That's a Sunday folks.

Now, we have people who cannot figure out where they can park the bikes in their HOA's, who cannot get a neighbors dog to stay put, or won't take down an illegal shed and so on. How sad is this that these things are so important that we make enemies of our neighbors over such junk. (Okay, soap box put away)

Donna...you stay right on that soap box! That's where you belong.

Your husband is a true humanitarian and I'd like to have you give him a huge THANK YOU from one person here who understands the undertaking and effort he ( and people like him are making). He should be blessed ten-fold.

As far as our "petty" problems.....the way I look at it....:

If we don't keep up on these "petty" problems most associations will fall into disrepair and more and more problems will escalate and the 'scumbags' of the associations WILL take over.

MOST people buy into an association with the expection that the quality of life and the quality of the neighborhood WILL be maintained.

While it DOES sound petty..in the whole scheme of things...we are not those living in such poor, deprived conditions.

Unfortunately, the "scum" among "us" will never have the compassion as the rest of us....and as a result "they" will take over if we are not diligent.

OK>>.I'll get off MY soap box

Robert...please chime in with YOUR wisdom.
