Revoking Petitions

If homeowners petition for a special meeting or to recall the board, can they revoke the petition if they decide not to go through with it? What does it take to revoke the petition - does each homeowner who signed petition have agree to withdraw it?

You could probably just have an informal agreement to not show up. When the meeting didn't meet quorum, it would be essentially cancelled.

Susan the only section of D-S I could point you at is the how to call a S.M. section. I could find no way to un-ring the bell in the statutes. As Daniel pointed out if enough people stay home they won’t have enough for a quorum to hold the meeting. If it’s a recall and the ballots have gone out then you need to convince people not to return them.

It depends on why. If it was not properly executed (not enough valid signatures) or didn't comply with either HOA protocol or state law, then it can be revoked.
