Does anyone know anything about making an homeowners association a township? Can the board of directors get together and make us a township without letting the people that own land in the developement know anything about it? And what does a "township" mean. I live in a development and was just told that the BOD had voted to make us a township. Just trying to find out information on this. Any answers are appreciated.
Thanks in advance

A township would be a creation of the county or state. As such, it would be a legal entity chartered with certain responsibilities and legal requirements. I don't think the board can just decide to be one. You would have to check your state and/or county laws regarding what is involved in becoming a township.
