We are a new HOA and in the process of re-negiotating our elevator contracts. We have a main elevator which is used by everyone and a private elevator which goes to 3 of the condo units. The HOA does not want to be in charge of the private elevator contract. However, the elevator maintenance wants to combine both of the contracts as one.
Does anyone has a similar situation and if so what are some of your thoughts and ideas in dealing with this situation?

Rian, what do your CC&R's say on the matter of elevator maintenance? If they state that elevator maintenance is the responsibility of the Association then the Association needs to maintain all of the elevators.
