Does anyone know a way to search for all HOA's/POA's in a city/county in the state fo Georgia? I'm wanting to start networking with neighboring HOA's in my home town but but I can't find an easy way to search for them other than riding around the city and stoping at each neighborhood. I have found the Sec. of State's webesite but will not let you search at a city of county level, only the state level. Thanks

You should be able to get a list from your local municipality (county)

Matt - you're correct about the corporation search function on the Secy of State website .. .. and if you put in a generic search term like "homeowner" you'll get over 8000 hits!

Depending on how large a radius you want to consider, I would suggest your idea of "driving around" but just noting the names of the communities. Once you have those, you can then easily locate the HOA/POA at the SOS website. You'll also get the names and addresses of the registered agent and usually the corporate officers. Typically the name of the registered agent is accurate, but not always the officers.

Wish I knew of a simpler way, but I don't.

Have you checked your county and municipal web sites?

Our local city web sites each have a page listing the HOAs, whether mandatory or not, and showing their respective subdivisions on city maps.

Matt,

You may be successful in searching city/county/state websites, but I doubt it very strongly. Most searches require the name of the entity and that is exactly what you're looking for. You could drive around your immediate neighborhood and jot down the names of the s/d's then do a search on the govt websites for contact info. You may also try contacting various management companys and asking if they would give you the names of their HOA clients. Once you have contact info for 3 or 4 HOAs you can ask their board members to also find other HOAs and I'm sure the list will grow that way. I think you have a good idea! Good luck with it!!!

Matt, if you know any real estate agents they could probably provide you with the info you are seeking. Also our County Recorders website when you do a search it provides the names of different COA's, I've never searched for HOA's. A visit to the local zoning office could also provide the answers you seek.

Studies show that 5 out of 4 people have problems with fractions
