I am conducting a research project and trying to find out how many HOA's have wastewater pump/lift stations that they are directly responsible for maintaining. please reply with yes/no (and how many if yes!) and the city/state where you are located. looking forward to your replies -- and thanks in advance!

Hi James. Thanks for your reply. I am a contractor doing some market research for an environmental technologies company based in Carlsbad, CA. I am using the responses to help the company determine if HOA/Community Associations would be a good market for them to pursue. Since forum rules do not allow me to market or sell anything, I have not asked for specific HOA names or id'd the company for whom I am working. I run a couple of different forums and the worst thing to have happen is to have them hijacked by salespeople! You can call me if you have specific questions 760 476 9090.

Hopefully, I can get enough responses to have some statistically relevant to share with the company. Seems like this is a pretty active board with some experienced/knowledgable HOA folks.

Thanks again,

Jamie

Hi Jamie,

See on the left...It says I'm from Colorado? I'm afraid I'm not comfortable giving my city, though.

I feel the same way Tracie does. I'm from Kentucky, but I'd rather not post my city. I will say that I am in North Central Kentucky.

No.

The city (dept public works) runs and maintains all waste water pump/lift stations.

No. I'm in AZ.

Frankly, I would not buy into a development that has it's own waste water treatment facility. The potential for high assessments is much too great, IMO.

No, and I am with Mary. In fact, I wouldn't buy into an HOA maintaining its own streets, or water either.

I am in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.

We have a lift station that all homes in our community are connected to. It is also capable of handling a neighboring subdivision in the future. We do NOT maintain it. It is maintained by our water company. Another neighboring subdivision has smaller pump or lift stations ? for each home and they are responsible for installing them but the water company works on them. Not sure if they have to pay a fee or not.

From Texas.

thanks. this situation tends to exist in flat areas - i.e. florida, where there is not enough slope across the geography to have pure gravity sewers. still looking for more responses!
