WE are currently updating our bylaws and are considering adding an allowance for variances. Is this a good idea as almost anything can be brought to the table for variance? Are you opening yourself up for legal challenges? and should'nt the whole membership vote on granting variances?

Mary, check to see if your Declaration allows for issuing variances. If not don't do it. If it does it is probably allos the Architectural committee to do it. In my experience the whole membership has never been involved.
