I live in Miami Fl. and the name of the community is called ***. Our president is also getting paid to be the managements company supervisior. I was employed up until this past Monday 09/14/09. i live in the complex and was also working there as a maintenanace man. I approached hime witha concerned that I had, not only as an employee but also as a home owner and he practicaly told me to mind my business and do my job. I was offended by this, so I then told him that I will not complain to him any longer and he said goo keep it that way.
So a second incident happen and I went over his head to the property manager ( who is his boss) since he would not give me the time and day.
Once he found out he approched me with anger cusing me out infront of my co-worker and was up in my face like he was ready to strike me. I then asked him to calm down and let me explain he said no I dont give a Sh_ _ and if you say one more word you are fired. I told him go ahead and fire me for no reason and he fired me.
I complained and sent a statement to the management company the same day and was offered my job back, but here it is 4 days later and nothing.
I called the mamagement company back and they told me that they are investigating and will get back to me.
what do I do, should I get an attorney??
is'nt this a conflict of intrest and what can I do to have him voted out of presidency?

I belive that i have rights under the whistleblowers act.

I have a complete copy of the statement and it's very ugly, the language he used against me is very, very nasty. He also has a tendency of mistreating homeowners and renters.

Thanks for your attention.

Hector, we can't give you any legal advise and we can't help you with your job situation.

These are two good examples of "conflict of interest"; when a (non-paid) board member becomes a paid employee on the property, and when a homeowner (member) is also a paid employee where he lives.

If you were approaching your boss with a job related inquiry I'd say you have a boss who's a jerk.

If you were approaching him as a homeowner and a member of your association you should have been "off the clock" and you should be putting your concerns in writing to both the board of directors and the management company.

You cannot remove him as president; only the board members themselves can do that. But you can recall him as a board member---the members voted him in and the members can vote him out. It is a lengthy process and you'll need the support of many other members of your association. (Your neighbors.)

Or you can wait until the next election and if most people in your association feel the same as you, don't vote him back in.
