To all, especially our doubters of the intent of this site.
This whole thread is full of how our regular posters respond to issues and gives a great look at the different viewpoints of individuals. Nowhere do I see anyone saying "Be like I say or you are wrong and will go to hell." Information or opinions here are discussed and if you have the best interests of your association in mind, you will take the good stuff that fits for you. And if anyone reads this thread from beginning to end, they will, at the very least, have food for thought.
Robert,
I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. This is an excellent example of a thread that discusses issues and allow HOA's to form their position, read and research the options they have given their own covenants and state laws.
It also, at least in my case, drove me to research further to see if my HOA was conforming to its own covenants and laws.
It also allowed all of us to compare the difference in requirements and to ponder. Is they status quo for my HOA, in the best interests of my association or should I look at altering the rules we must follow for the better of the association.
I've previously posted on another thread about how nice it would be to have some national direction or minimum of requirements, so to speak. We all, at times, seem to be stabbing at what is required, acceptable, and in the best interest of our association. I finally have seen how part of the beauty of association is their difference.
I've read threads on rules and regulations and have begun making notes on how we might change ours for the better.
I have realized to truly appreciate those that commit their time to post hear.
