Our new BOD (as a result of a hostile recall) is asking if the members would support a reduction of votes required to change covenants or amendments from 75% to 51%.

"This change might be more representative of the current homeowners."

I don't think this is a good idea. But I am not sure why I feel this way. Intuitively I feel there might be a hidden agenda. But, I don't have 2 or 3 good arguments for NOT changing.

Since this is a new regime I don't want to appear to be hostile or uncooperative and would like to present a thoughtful and reasoned position to the homeowners.

Please share your thoughts with me....

Thanks in advance....

Tom - it would still take 75% to approve a change to 51%. I think it is safe to assume they have an agenda and I would be more than a bit worried. They obviouly don't think 75% of your homeowners would support whatever it is they want to do. Harold

I prefer 67% over 75% or 51%; but like 51% over 75%.
