Can the BOT remove a committee menber if it feels justified.

I would say, certainly!, unless the bylaws say otherwise. Traditionally speaking, committee members serve at the pleasure of the BOD.

Depends on "how" the committee member got placed into the committee - elected? appointed? by the entire board or by the president?

Generally speaking, the method of placement is the way the person is removed. For example, if the president appointed the person, the president removes the person.

absolutely the BOT can remove the committee member and dissolve a committee. however the BOT runs the risk of being viewed in a negative light for cherry picking. after all, typically a committee reports to the board, the board weighs the committee recommendations, reports and makes a final determination. typically. how many are in the committee with this member you want to remove?
