This thread isn't really about bylaws. I used it as an example. I was just curious if others would find it helpful to post the state of the poster before the thread topic.

When I am looking for information on an HOA/condo issue, I am looking for Florida statute-related threads. The responses do not necessarily have to be from those familiar with FL law, many provide food for thought, but if a thread would be identified by state, it would be more helpful when using the search feature.

What are your thoughts?

It's a great suggestion.

I think it's been offered before.

But somehow it didn't take hold?

I think that the state designation under the poster's name was supposed to help with that, though.

Yes, but the state designation is not visible on the forum page.

That seems like a simple remedy, adding it to the "started By" column...

I too have found the opinions of those from other states quite helpful, but toa greater degree for those from Florida (sorry all you others north of the border)!

I think the state is important, but equally important is the structure of the HOA. We have everything here from ranches to mobile homes, to condos, townhouses, detached condos, to individual subdivision homes governed by an HOA.

All info is contained in FS720 signed into being by Gov. Crist in October.

This is the lastest update.

For a copy of your covenants and by-laws go to your city hall and get a copy of your original covenants. Anything handed to you by a neighor of board member does have much weight.

READ AND UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ.

You can do a search to find all posts which mention your state. I found this to be quite helpful for Delaware, but the results may be too voluminous for a state like California.

I would like to see the poster's state identified on the question column on the main page.
