Hello Everyone,
I am in Alabama and trying to research HOA property taxes. We were wondering if any HOA's out there had their assessed values re-evaluated after a developer pulled out? We are still under developer control but currently pay almost $8k per year in real estate taxes.

We are going thru this issue with our newly created HOA. In Spartanburg, SC we went from > $8,000 on pool, clubhouse and 12 acres w/ lake to <$200 per an update from the county assessor.

AZ passed legislation several years ago which limits the assessed value for each parcel (land, buildings and improvements) used for common areas to $500. This has proven to be quite a huge tax break for the larger assn's that have clubhouses, tennis courts, pools, etc.
