We have a locked secured front door lobby entry with a buzz in type of entry system.

We are forever getting door to door solicitors coming in our building pushing their goods and tresppassing. The issue? They are let in by homeonwer's coming and going...

Last week a woman askd if I could let her in the building. I asked did she live here? No... Who are you here to see? She couldn't answer me. I told her that she doesn't belong in our building then plain and simple.. Yet I left the lobby and pulled out of the garage only to see MY NEIGHBOR let this trespasser in.

I spoke to the neighbor directly.. but really this is insane.. How can We as a board help keep the apathy away from this matter and make everyone aware this behavior puts us at risk for theft, property damage and trespassing.

Trespassing is entering a property without permission. If permission is granted, that's not trespassing. Why MY NEIGHBOR granted access is her business. Your BOD can't do anything about that via rules, and Membership apathy - far as I know - cannot be cured unless Membership sees a Clear and Present Danger to themselves and/or their property, or a value-added payoff for taking/not taking action in a given situation.

Our SFD neighborhood has numerous NO TRESPASSING/NO SOLICITING signs - at two entrances and around our ponds/common areas - which I doubt have ever discouraged anybody from dropping by.

If you sense a threatening situation, call the Federales.

Two things:

1)Stronger signs:

By Order of the HOA
there is
NO Soliciting
On these Premises.

2) Better education to your residents. Do they know what danger they put the other residents in when they let unknowns roam the HOA?
