Our docs state dogs must be on a lease law as well as my county.

A 30-06 between the eyes usually works.

the noise scares the dog, and one less irresponsible dog owner in the world is a good thing. Hopefully, you get him before he has bred children and passed his stupidity genes on.

I find a Weatherby .54 to be MUCH more effective.

My personal choice would be a Mossberg Model 500 riot gun. It's one of those pistol-gripped, short-single barreled, pump shotguns (in my case 12 gauge) that SWAT teams use to blow doors off their frames. Holds 5 regular loads or 4 super-magnums. Much messier though makes up for that in drama. Just the pump noise is enough to straighten out most folks.
