On or about July 2007, Does anyone in Virginia recall where the VA legislature passed amendments to the VA Property Association act whereby "email votes were permissable (especially in emergencies)as long as the vote was recorded at the next regular board meeting???? I've looked all over the web and legis site, and cannot find this, but I seem to remember that they passed this change in the last year or 2. Any ideas?

I should have clarified that this process was related to the Board voting on initiatives. This does not involve the residents voting for the Board of Directors.

Thanks Joe - I realize that this is Mike Inmans's interpretation, but I could have sworn that Virginia modified this rule to account for emergency votes where the voting record would be recorded at the next board meeting. Inman's scenario talks about the board planning, strategizing and polling via email and that's not exactly the scenario for which I was looking.

Mike,

Have you tried going on the Legislature's website and checking the past two sessions for the bill? Once you find the bill you can find out exactly what happened to it. Perhaps the bill did not pass as you thought it did.

Mike,

If I were trying to find a piece of AZ legislation, I would, first make certain I'm in the right session. The AZ Leg. website allows you to click on the proper session. Then if I don't know the bill number, I would do a search by title -- perhaps, "HOAs email voting". Just a few pointers that I hope will help you out.
