Has anyone here had experience collecting on an HOA-related judgement (not related to assessments)? Can a Writ of Garnishment be filed without an attorney if we have bank account information?

Although I am sure procedures might vary from state to state in NY you can collect on a judgement without using the services of an attorney.

Here you can present the judgement to the county sherrif and they can either do garnishment of salary or collection using assets held in a bank.

Perhaps you could contact the sherrif's department in your area and they might provide you with the specifics.

Again this might differ in Florida but in NY any expenses incurred in the attempt to collect on the judgement may be added to judgement amount so you might be able to collect all your costs.
