Is it common practice to give an off-site property manager a holiday bonus/tip? If so, are there any standards most communities follow? I live in a twenty-something unit complex and we generally give $200-250. Thoughts?

Thanks for your time!

p.s. sorry if this is a duplicate post. I tried searching for existing ones on this topic with no luck.

I don't know if it's "commonly done." But it would be a nice gesture to show your appreciation.

Of course, treat this like an extra paycheck and do standard deductions, as you do for regular pay.

Regarding bonus'; the only deduction that is required to be made is for S/S and medicare. This allows the employee to enjoy a little larger part of the bonus and really will not have much of an effect, if any, on his fed and state tax obligations.
