Well, we had our annual meeting and the voting for the "new" board. The meeting went fairly well, as the "beast" kept her mouth shut for most of the meeting.

When it came time to read who "won" I kept my eyes down and held my breath. The original five board members were all reelected and the members broke out into applause.

Thanks to all of you who sent your good wishes our way. We know "she'll" retreat for a little bit but we know we've got to stay on our toes. She'll be baaaaaaaaack.

Sad side-note......My husband told me that after the meeting, while everyone was walking home, the "beast" stopped one of our board members and said "something" to her. The next morning that board member had a stroke while at work and is now in the hospital.

anna,
Congratulations on getting a new Board. Now you have your work cut out for you and the other Board members. Don't worry about the beast. If you all do your association proud she won't have anything to gripe about and she will have no credibility.

Sorry to hear about the stroke lady but the beast really didn't have anything to do with it, as much as you'd like to blame her. Good luck to the sick Board member.

a stroke is essentially caused when an artery or smaller blood carrying vessel to the brain is blocked, depriving the brain of oxygen. it is the result usually of a blockage of the vessel, sometimes by leakage or blowout of a vessel, but can never be caused by rumors, innuendos, gossip, or nasty names being said by one person to another. it is impossible for one person to say something to another that will cause them to have a stroke.

a condition that CAN be caused when one person makes a false claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government or nation a negative image is defamation. Defamation has two forms, libel and slander. Slander refers to a malicious, false, and defamatory spoken statement or report, while libel refers to any other form of communication such as written words or images.

Sorry your friend had a stroke. be careful that you don't give the beast the ammunition she needs to shoot back.

My computer has been down so this is the first I've had a chance to congratulate you on the successful annual meeting. Glad to hear it!!! Hopefully the "beast" will be quiet for a while, but if not, you know there is something inside her causing her to be so spiteful and awful. She must live a miserable life. If you can gin up a little pity for her, that might help.

Meanwhile, keep up the good work and keep caring. We all need folks like you.

Thank you Marianne for your kind words. Yes, it's been a very challenging year. We've gotten way past pity for this woman. But we'll hang in there and keep on plugging! Thanks again!!!
