When writing the Rules and regulations for an HOA does the Board of Directors have the right to reserve the main clubhouse usage for Board Meetings and special functions only leaving individuals who do not attend special organized functions not able to use the facility they pay for? This is in the state of FLA.

Of course the BOD should have the right to use the clubhouse for BOD meetings. There should be a schedule showing the dates and times of other meetings and the board should reserve the room for a time when it doesn't conflict with any other scheduled activity. However, there may be occasion to have an emergency meeting that might require cancelling another activity so the board can use the facilities. The BOD is charged with the resp. to operate the assn; where else would you expect them to hold their meetings? IMO, a board meeting should be viewed as more important than a bingo or card game. BTW, aren't we only talking about a few hours on one day/evening a month???
