Our newly elected board has had some past issues and conflicts amongst themselves. IN order to take attention off of past doing and conflicts one of the board members has brought up the idea of a code od conduct which would be an agreement that we would sign in order to attempt to get a working board moving forward. and stop personal issues, attacks ect.

HAS ANYONE SEEEN SOMETHING LIKE THIS AND DO YOU HAVE AN EXAMPLE?

Hi Irene,

Many folks here would recommend Robert's Rules of Order as a good guide on how to run a Board meeting so things don't get bogged down by squabbling.

If the Board members are having conflicts with each other outside of the meetings, then I don't think any code of conduct will have an effect on them.

Discussions and disagreements on various HOA issues are standard procedure. It would be rare for all Board members to always agree on everything. The problems come in when Board members start taking it personally. It's probably impossible to totally end the personality conflicts, but at least you can set up your Board meetings to follow certain procedures such as Robert's Rules of Order so they can proceed with minimal conflict.

Good Luck.
