I am the president for our HOA, over the years we have had some board members that failed to communicate or participate on the board. Thankfully those years are behind us, however as of late we have been having problems getting residents interested in being on the board. We only have two positions filled, president and vice president, thankfully we have a management company that helps with a lot of the administrative and legal issues. The problem that I am having is that the vice president has stepped back, he has complained about people not following the CC&R's and no longer wants to be part of the community. He told me about a week ago that he was going to resign, however that still has not happened. I am the only one that is interested in making the community a better place to live, however I cannot do it along as we have 202 homes in the community.
I need some advice. I cannot force him to resign, however there are decisions and issues that need his attention if he is going to be on the board.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so what did you do?
I have a meeting with the management team tomorrow to discuss what I can do.
Thank you!
