WE AT THE COUNTRY ESTATES HOA WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAS ANSWERS TO OUR MOST RECENT EVENT THAT HAPPENED JUST HOURS AGO IN OUR COMMUNITY. FIRST OF ALL, THIS TYPE OF EVENT NEVER HAPPENS IN OUR HOA COMMUNITY, SINCE WE THOUGHT WE HAD A VERY WELL ESTABLISHED RESIDENT OCCUPANCY AS HOMEOWNERS. WELL, TODAY, JUST HOURS AGO, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND POLICE RAIDED A HOME AND ARRESTED ALL OCCUPANTS IN THE HOUSE, SEALED AND TOOK OVER THE HOME AFTER THE RAID. IT APPEARS, AFTER CHECKING OUR RECORDS OF PREVIOUS YEARS, THAT THIS HOME WAS A RENTAL HOME SINCE 2001 TO A PRIVATE OWNER. WHAT CAN WE DO TO SECURE THIS PROPERTY AND WHAT DO WE NEED TO LOOK FOR OF ANY IMPACT IT HAS ON OUR HOA AT LARGE? DO OUR CCR'S TELL US ANY ANSWERS OR THE BANK WHO HANDLES OUR CHARTER AND MONEY AFFAIRS IF ANY? PLEASE ADVISE US AS WE ARE IN NEED OF SOME ANSWERS. NEED TO MOVE ON THIS AGENDA ASAP. I doubt if you will find much specific information about this situation in your documents and really suspect there is much you can do about the "secured" house, other than try to find out what specifically went on and notify your bank and ask for advice. I would assume the HOA Board would want to take steps, when you have more info, to get the ducks in a row to move on establishing the HOA's rights in the property and you all probably have some legal lien on all your dwellings I doubt you have to do anything ASAP, more like just be sure you know what can be done..

RW1 Maybe he was "shouting" because he was upset. Yet try to have a little understanding here. I work with several senior citizens who type in all caps because of their vision problems. It's easier for them to see what they're writing and their senior friends, who receive the e-mails can also read them more easily. We're here to help---not to correct their computer etiquet.

Be careful not to let this blow up to become a discussion of using Capitalization. At this day and age even if you use all caps you should explain your reason for doing so.

How about the problem here? I am not sure the pond problem maybe becausing the Owner participation problem, at least, it is an excuse to not get involved with the community, solve the pond problem and maybe the other issues get better.

Not that it matters. It sounds to me like some federal law was suspected of being violated by the occupents of the home (maybe drugs? pornography?) and I'll bet the home was raided, siezed, and sealed under a court-issued federal warrant. From the way you described it, it's probably now considered a crime scene and there's probably not much you can do about it until the matter is settled by the authorities.

Like Bruce said, you'll probably learn more by tuning into the news on TV than by calling the local P.D. However, I wouldn't be worrying too much at this point as you said it was a rental. That means the owner should still be paying the assessments which is your prime worry. Be thankful in that whatever illegal activity was going on (unbeknownst to you and perhaps all the neighbors) has now been stopped!

Yes, the owner is probably the one who has the most to lose here, assuming of course, that he knew nothing about what was going on. He still has to pay association dues, property taxes, property insurance, and the mortgage (if there is one) but can't collect any rent because the renter is in jail (assuming he's not released on bail). Furthermore, the owner can't rent it to someone else until the home is released by the authorities.
