Anyone plan to purchase large quantities of forever stamps before the price increase, to save money in the future on mailings? I could see investing a $1000 or so, and be set with a couple year supply for small HOA's.

Only if you send out ALL mailings first class. Newsletters usually can go other rates.

Susan... Really? Can you tell me more about newsletters/rates? That's something I haven't heard of. You might just save a lot of folks some money here...

Brian,

It's called bulk rates. The post office has rules that apply to this but you can save a bundle if you have a large mailing. Many years ago I edited a club newsletter that we mailed using bulk mailing. It was quite an involved process which included the requirement to separate the mail by zip code.

BrianB - Thank you for relating the effect the postal rate increase will have upon HOA's and the benefit of planning ahead.

thanks Mary... I never looked into Bulk rates, as we never had enough mailings to ever qualify. Perhaps there are other HOA's who do, and can look into this for their stuff though!
