If your HOA disproves wooden sheds or sheds of any kind, I would like to hear your stance on wooden play houses. Is there a difference? I don't need to hear the pros for sheds, just whether or not your HOA approves wood play houses and not sheds and why?

Thank you for your time.

how does your HOA define a shed?

We don't approve either one or any structure "if it would be visible to a person 6' tall standing at ground level on any part of adjacent property." That means tho we cannot exclude it if it would be visible from inside an adjacent home, especially a two story home, which is absolutely asinine that they have to view this horrible thing but a 6' person at ground level must not, but there it is in black and white. Another example of sticking us with covenants copied from wherever.
My point is: What does your documents say?

Harold maybe that concept is to prevent something from being visible all the time vs occassionally? If it is visible from the street everyone sees it all the time but if it visible from a second story it is only visible when you look out your window which you don't have to do all the time.

Our CC&Rs specify "outbuildings, which include but are not limited to sheds, gazebos, playhouses, dog houses, and greenhouses."

So. confirm that your documents discuss "sheds" only and not "outbuildings.'

BarbaraB5 - I think you mean disapprove, not disprove? You've asked why, perhaps it's aesthetics? However, typically, children's playhouses don't store the same things that sheds do. Such as gasoline, oil, sharp tools, barbecues and their propane tanks, etc. Perhaps that has something to do with shed disapproval. If your HOA prohibits sheds, perhaps you can just make them look like playhouses, and rent a couple kids to fool the neighbors. Happy Easter!!

Thanks for brightening up an otherwise gloomy, rainy Saturday!

MicheleD - See, I actually do have a sense of humor, as you do as well, and enjoy everyone on this site. Was just trying to brighten up everyone's day, no offense intended. Glad you got the chuckle. Good day for a movie, or puttering in the shed, that is if your HOA permits them. : )

In our association the ACC said it is ok to have a play house as long as it is in the back yard but I have a problem with it when you can see it from the streets:
