Can anyone please help in posting some of their various committee guidance/charters for the various committees in your community? I have the ACB charter but we are looking at starting up some other committees to help take some of the load off of the Board. Initially we want to start a fines committee, decorations, clubhouse and community events committee, property rules and regulations, general operating rules and conduct for our recreational facilitates. Any others that you can send are greatly appreciated.

This is a great site and resource for information sharing, thank you to the creators and participants that post here.

Hi Ray,

I'm going through the same thing with our new community. I'm serving our HOA as the President. I've attached a document that I plan to present to the BOD members tomorrow at our board meeting.

I would love feed back from others or better yet if other people can post their R&R for committees I would be grateful.

Thanks,
Bruce

You are well-advised in creating a "charter" for your new committees, as well-formulated marching orders can greatly improve their effectiveness and gets them off to a running start. A charter describes the purpose and authority of the committee, clarifies responsibilities, assures accountability, and creates and limits authority.

In the attached, you will find a sample charter that we use for our Landscaping Committee. Since you are apparently a relatively new association, you may find it helpful to visit www.**********.com under the Contents section to see what other items you should consider doing to strengthen your BoD management system. The Landscaping Committee charter is an example of one of the many sample documents that are provided in this start-up kit.

Good Luck
JoeK

JoeK - Wow, very comprehensive, and a great deal of responsibility for a volunteer committee. Would include a line that the LC Chair, and all committee members must be a member in good standing.
