We are looking for park benches (about 10) for our community that are
made up of recylced material that can withstand South Florida's weather.

We tryed the wooden variety (sealed and treated) and they did not last past
two years.

If anyone has any suggestions, we would be grateful to you for any recommendations.

Thank you

Try concrete benches.

Robin,
Google recycled wood, tons of stuff, works wonderful. Check out
villageofnewhaven.info and look at pictures. All nthis decking is recycled wood, I think it is called trek, but look for brand by reputable lumber companies. Not cheap but worth it. We also have acouple wooden benches about 50 feet from ocean that we attached to this decking and have been there at least 10 years. Make sure you get SS hardware and keep them tightened (use loc-tite) and spray with a garden sprayer every six months. Could be the treated wood you used or the hardware and if you lock them firmly to deck they will last for years.

The shipping on a nice bench will sometimes cost as much as the bench. $1000 shipping easy. You should look around for a local company that gets them in by the truckload and can deliver.

Reviving 5-year-old thread to direct us to a website. Kinda has the aroma of spam.
