Our HOA (140 SFHs) meets every 2 months; our 3 BODs (me included) agreed weeks ago ...on yesterday's meeting date (17th), time = 5pm-6:30pm. None of this was out of the ordinary in the past 4 decades. One Director sent a text @ 3:30 he was "traveling" ,would zoom it...but if he lost the connection "the 3 of you please continue."
PM, alone, decided 90" (3:30pm) before meeting "you're driving and shouldn't be on Zoom." He never said he was driving!! She immediately sent out a member EM announcing "a conflict" and rescheduled this meeting a week later (24th). We 3 directors were available. I replied I was unsure I could attend the 24th due to plans. I would see if an adjustment could be made and respond ASAP. Today (12 hrs later) she sent out another EM saying "Jackie can't make it and the other two directors prefer an early Dec. HOA meeting." UNTRUE! I asked if I missed an email... (since her communications are in left field.) "I was UNSURE and would RSVP ASAP!!" Both Directors work from home and had acknowledged their flexibility and were nonspecific about ANY PREFERENCEs.
I'm interested in the comments/suggestions each might share; ps- she's been our PM for a year, without incident.

Board members are volunteers and have lives. Your board or the PM should not be cancelling regularly scheduled meetings because a board member can’t make it - especially in CA where the Sterling - Davis law requires meeting notices and agendas be published. It makes your board look unorganized and incompetent to the home owners.

Your PM should not have any authority to cancel a meeting. She is there to assist the board, not run it. The president of your board should be coordinating with the other board members, not the PM.

With a three person board, 2 would be a quorum. So there would be no reason to cancel.

Tim, Exactly my point. The other 2 directors remained silent.
