That's life in the Big City

So, I have been chided because I refused to sign the pay voucher for the company that cleans the bathrooms to the pool and dumps
the trash. I asked the PM have you seen the condition of the bathrooms and the trash is overflowing? There are cobwebs in the corners
of the ceiling and nothing has been cleaned in a while.

I was told, that's not fair to the cleaners. My response was tough tatas.

I also told the PM nearly 2 months ago that the light to the hot tub was either burned out or the breaker tripped.
I asked if a blue light could be installed in the hot tub and the PM said it was against the SNHD regulations.

I asked the SNHD and they wanted to know who told me that. I gave them a screen shot of the text message.

I also called the SNHD this morning because of the bathroom conditions, the power to the drinking fountain has been out
for months and I asked for a blue light to be installed in the hot tub. The Investigator for the health district agreed with me
that a blue light is welcoming and a light that gives off a green tint looks like algae.

I told the investigator that as board president I am tired of being treated like a rubber stamp and I am tired of being lied to
by the PM I gave the investigator a copy of the email that the hot tub heater does not need to be tied to the emergency switch
and I gave them a copy of the email from a few years ago the PM insisting that it needs to be tied to the emergency switch
I honestly do not care if the health department fines us, I will make a motion at the next meeting that the PMC pays the fine for their
negligence

pop some popcorn.

That's life in the big city. I wish other caring homeowners would run for a board position.
We need to get rid of this PMC

Dean,
At first thought it does seem a little radicle but sometimes you are left with few choices. I would say better him report it than someone get hurt and sue the HOA.

What LetA may have going for him/her is that the other directors likely do not realize that LetA likely qualifies as an "adverse party." Meaning a party operating in a way that the other directors see as adverse to the HOA. With these reports to authorities with legal powers to make things difficult for the HOA, LetA is essentially saying he/she is ready to sue to make things happen.

In this situation, the other directors could seek legal counsel (without LetA present) and then have a duty to exclude LetA from all discussions pertaining to LetA's reports to the health authorities.

If a safety issue is involved, I back LetA.

Let's see what emerges from the chaos.

Sometimes things getting worse for the short run is the path to things getting better for the longer run.

Not signing an authorization for payment for substandard services - ok. Reporting the HOA and the HOA paying a subsequent fine - no so much.

Well Ellen we shall see, so far no changes and the pool doubled down and the lights went out in the pool, again.
Yes this is principled on safety, since nobody else cares oh well hold their feet to the fire and make them care.
People need to take their job seriously and the other board members need to take their obligation seriously as well.

I suspect the wiring is fookie because the previous maintenance was a complete joke that would make Red Green shake their heads,

But hey nobody wants to listen to me so if the pool house burns down or God forbid someone gets electrocuted, I tried to warn them.
And if a lawsuit is filed, this will all come out on discovery I will not hold back and will sing like a canary.

The substance of what you say to your fellow directors might be fine. But I think your style of delivering news turns people off. Lots of wasted energy using emotion, sarcasm, hyperbole and remarking how incompetent people there are.

Ya gotta deal in reality: People there are not going to change much.

One states the facts; //listens// to others; accepts the vote; and moves on (to another topic or another strategy).
