When the annual meeting voting of officers packet goes out, should the candidate statements of those wanting to be considered be included ?

In CA, election candidate statements are delivered about 100 days (I think?) before ballots arrive. We are guided by Davis-Stirling.

In our elections, candidate statements are optional. If you have election rules, maybe a reference is there.

I dont see a reason why it shouldn't be - it's a good way to get acquainted with the people who want to sit on the board. If you're concerned the packet might be too hefty and cost more to print and mail, post the statements on the community website or publish them in the newsletter and move on.

I wouldn't stop there - how about sponsoring a meet the candidates night where they can make presentations and homeowners can ask questions?

Yes they should be included. also, if a person is nominated at the Annua Meeting they should have to explain a little about themselves and what are their experiences.

There is a difference between director and officer. The annual meeting usually elects directors, and then after the annual meeting, the directors meet to choose the officers. Yes?

use ballot software that randomizes the order of candidates. Our last election I swear the first 2 candidates got the most votes because they were lsited first.
