I know legally the lot line does not extend to the street in private gated communities unless the street is deeded to the owners lot.
Metaphorically should an HOA who's governing documents state the board can implement parking rules in the community.

Many of the houses do not have full driveways and some have single car garages with no driveway and a narrow opening where you can barely
fit a lawnmower through the door sideways.

Our PM feels parking rules can't be equally enforced because of that. Except for about a handful of lots, nearly every lot is the same
size. Typical SFH with a two car garage can park two cars in the garage, two in the driveway and one in front of the home.

The problem is that one AH neighbor that parks their Yugo in the street in the middle between the two homes, eliminating a parking spot
for the other neighbor. Many of the residents, myself included are tired of playing musical cars when I need to leave, It is beyond annoying
and I am just tired of the PM's stonewalling.

I for one want to craft some reasonable rules that will pass the muster and go after the AH parkers.

What are some suggestions you implement in your communities.

You stated that " Many of the houses do not have full driveways and some have single car garages with no driveway and a narrow opening where you can barely fit a lawnmower through the door sideways."

It appears that your development, like many, were designed for maximum number of lots with minimal width roads and houses with limited storage causing the garage to be storage vs. used for vehicles.

Personally, I think that your PM is correct. Since you can't enforce the existing parking rule equally on everyone (based on housing designs) that if the rule were challenged you may lose.

You also stated that "The problem is that one AH neighbor that parks their Yugo in the street in the middle between the two homes, eliminating a parking spot for the other neighbor." and "Many of the residents, myself included are tired of playing musical cars when I need to leave."

To me it sounds like you want to create a rule to go after the one individual.

Ask yourself, if the individual was not parking their vehicle where they are, would you still be complaining?

Has anyone tried talking to them about the issue?

If purchased a 1 bedroom unit and I purchased a 2 bedroom unit, the HOA can’t enforce a regulation that you can’t put up guests in a tent in the yard because the enforcement would not be equal? Cars and driveway space is no different.

Yes, and like I've said before. I feel like i am a rubber stamp and the PM runs the show. We were able to get a 3rd board member, but like before
they don't want to grab the bull by the horns. One more board member to make changes. I read complaints all the time about parking and other
traffic issues like speeding and stop sign runners.

No, it isn't just me, there are several others that want something done and we are all sick and tired of the same ol whaa whaa boo hoo nothing we can do.

Other nearby and one adjoining community to ours people constantly complain their cars are being towed because of improper parking. Again, tell me why
we can't do anything.

We have a mixed association of condos, duplexes and SFHs. One car, two car and three car garages and short and long driveways. We apply our parking rules equally. No overnight street parking. They knew the rules when they bought.

Lori says says a main in communal living "they knew the rules when they moved in". Working to change a rule(s) to suit you is fine but until such change(s) are implemented, one should follow their present rules.

I am only one voice, I wish we had some homeowners like the ones where I work. They don't play that game.
