I think I know the answer but our property management company (3rd one in a year due to buyouts and mergers), uses a particular software.

Is it permissible to ask questions if anyone here uses that software and then if yes, some technical questions.

Thanks

Darn Was hoping to be able to discuss software features.

Is there any place that someone can recommend to discuss software?

I'm pretty sure discussing features would not break the rules, name dropping would.

Look for the company's website, social media pages, and other support materials. Savvy companies provide resources for current and prospective customers, so you may be able to find something there.

You could either try to get answers from the software company by visiting its website, or you could try something like Software Advice or even Reddit if the software is well known.

If you have technical questions, have you tried talking to the property manager's IT manager? This software is being used with your community, after all.

Hi Art,

If you are managed by a large, national company, it's possible they likely have proprietary software and technical advice won't be readily available. Smaller companies use off the shelf products, and you can usually find information by searching the name of the software and help desk or "how do I do X in Y" which should get you to their wiki site or library.

The challenge is our PM's have been terrible.

I have a meeting next week with the new PM and hopefully can get better answers.

Thanks anyway

Just call the software company your self and ask directly. I did that and found out the violation letters they sent out could be customized so I asked them to customize ours.
Also found out the company charged $1.25 to mail out the letters (was several years ago) yet we were being charged $5/letter. Contract stated we could only be charged actual postage. Brought it up and they said no to both. they were fired eventually.

reddit also has an HOA forum that doesn't have restricitive "liability" rules where you can discuss software.
