How do most of you deal with the satellite dishes. I know the FCC Rules and Regs, state an HOA can dictate where a dish is installed as long as it doesn't cause excessive expense or poor reception to the subscriber. Our HOA documents state that we follow the FCC Rules and Regulations, but that they need to be installed so as not to be viewed from the front of the property. These are townhouses we have nine other houses in that row that have installed them in the rear so as not to be veiwed from the front of the property - a renter has just put theirs on the front of the house with wires running everywhere, because the installer did not have a ladder high enough to install in the accepted area. And the owner of the property is a real dead beat we are in litigation with him on other problems.....
Has anyone else run into this problem and if so how did you handle it and was it resolved?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

NL,

Clearly the unit with the renter has not followed what your association has deemed as the place for installation of the dish. Send a letter from the attorney that the dish is improperly installed as to it's location. But be warned, all you need is some smart butt guy using and misinterpreting the FCC rules and saying that "NO" they can put it where they want to. Are you prepaired to do battle over this? By not following thru, you will be setting an unwanted precedence so it is one of those tough situations. Me, I would go after him to remove and replace it.
