HI,

Does the email notification works on this board if you want to be notified when someone replies. I check the box off but never get emails and nothing is in my spam folder. I did submit a request to them and never got notified. my handle is newinnj if someone can inform them that my email is broken.

The notification does not work for me either. I think the site was upgraded a few months ago to a more secure system of verification. I'm not a technology person but I believe that no one is able to be notified at this point.

It used to work. It seemed to stop working when they implemented new security procedures (to stop the spammers, I assume).

Yep, same for me. It needs to be fixed, or it is going to hurt this very great site. I have mentioned it several times to no avail.

this site has a 1990's vibe, love it or leave it, It's NOT gonna change. the admin has already stated they are afriad google will kill their top search ranking if they change the forum. that's the reason, they dont 'want to loose their free google search referrals.

Would you be able to connect the dots in for the number 1 results in a Google search and why the email notification does not work. It's the one at the bottom of the thread box that says

"Check this if you would like to be notified when someone replies"

That sounds odd. Website owners typically have to keep up with whatever Google is up to, or they'll fall behind their competitors. But what do I know....

I guess if we care enough to ask a question, and value the time of those who answer, we have to remember ourselves to check for answers. Not too difficult.

Maybe best thing for site administrators to do is to remove the "Check this if you would like to be notified when someone replies" prompt so posters don't assume a reply will be indicated via email.
