Looking for insurance company recommendation for dock insurance. Our Association insurance company (SF) just cancelled us due to 2 claims in 5 years on our 8 slip community dock. Both claims were caused by severe storms that damaged the gangway which was repaired, then replaced. Recent conversation with the Board is they can't find an insurance company that will insure the dock based on past claims. They have yet to tell us which insurance companies they have contacted. Anyone have a recommendation? Thanks

The posting rules don't allow naming of specific companies- someone might see your question and send you a private message with a referral- otherwise, you may need to do some googling. Don't know if a boat retailer would have any suggestions, but maybe you could try something in your area.

You might try some independent insurance brokers and be willing to accept a very large deductible.

Thank you SheliaH. I should have read the rules first. Our Board says they have been looking locally but do not know to what extent.

DeanJ. Thanks, I don't think the Board has looked at independent brokers. I will let them know.
