Thank you, yes, in Palm Beach County Florida it is 2 to a bedroom. Always been that way(not that it means anything) but if more is living in house or villa, etc.... you could be fined, or your landlord.

Just curious, in Palm Beach.. is that two adults to a bedroom, or two people? Does palm beach require mom and dad put the newborn in a separate room or face a code violation?

Brian,
I just HAVE TO reply to your post as I am sitting here laughing sooo hard!

Our declarations also have this language regarding occupancy.... "The maximum number of occupants in a Unit shall be limited to two (2) people per bedroom in a unit etc."

I shudder to think this could be taken so literally that a wife couldn't send her husband to the living room sofa for a night or two!!

Ann

PS... thanks for the chuckle!!

OK guys funny! It is 2 people per bedroom. About the husband thing, too bad for them. This is a law that I think is State Wide

Brian beat me to that question! This is so ludicrous, and being taken as enforceable gospel by some posters FOR RENTERS OR GUESTS ONLY. I've never gotten an answer as to how these people know how many are occupying a bedroom. I suppose if they count five bodies occupying a two bedroom condo (even one being an infant), that they are in violation. They have to be spending their volunteer time spying on and counting residents to even get that information. Such a life.

I don't think it is ludicrous at all. I can tell you from back in the day when I was a paramedic you wouldn't believe some of the homes we would go into. There would be mattress after mattress lying on the floor with 10-15 people living in a one or two bedroom place. With the influx of immigrants legal or otherwise the stories of this happening are more and more in the news. Besides Association rules most health departments or local zoning ordinances limit the number of people allowed to live in a unit.

Studies show that 5 out of 4 people have problems with fractions

This isn't bad for occupancy. If i have a two bedroom unit, i can have 4 people living in the home. All four can be in the same bedroom, if desired, but only four. I do wonder if anyone would kick out a family with a newborn if they cross the line? Parents, living in a one bedroom home, have a baby. Must they now move out or face fines?

even worse: At what point in the pregnancy is the unborn considered an "occupant"? I mean, he/she IS sleeping in the unit and occupying it...

BrianB, AnnJ1...I guess that Menage et trois would be prohibited? )
Unless the third is just a visitor and not an 'occupant'.

DJ1,
Uh oh! Methinks I'm in trouble here in River City .... time to purchase new black-out blinds. Oops... they're not allowed either!!

On a serious note... As per the reasons mentioned by Glen, the concept is a good one, IMHO. What's not so good, is an interpretation of association docs which could be construed as "counting angels on a pin head".

Have A Happy!
