Fraudulent County Records
Are "MAGICAL" Says Former President.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK OF A FORMER PRESIDENT WHO CAN SAY THIS ?

WHAT ABOUT THE HOMEOWNERS THAT RECEIVED THESE FRAUDULENT/UTTERED LEGAL DOCUMENTS?

WOULD YOU SUPPORT YOUR PRESIDENT DOING THIS?
IF NOT,HOW WOULD YOU HANDLE THIS SITUATION?

Sounds like they got them from a bad source of information whom was never responsible to provide.

If you want the right documents you go to the source. That is your county records department or State website for Articles of Incorporation. You By laws may not be required to be on file. If they are, then your county has them on official file with the CC&Rs.

Accept no alternative from any other source. They are not responsible for to provide.

Get yourself to the court house record or State office and stop blaming others.

Btw. I would toss the documents out in the garbage and accept the apology for making a mistake.

These documents received were never officially filed. A file copy is on file. Duh...

hi Dawn,

I have posted in your other thread this same response.

South Carolina is set up like in my home state under the Consumer Affairs department.

They take care of condos and HOA's.

Here is something you can pursue and file a complaint with the bureau. Condo is called Horizontal property in your state.

https://consumer.sc.gov/sites/consumer/files/Documents/HOA/HOA_Horizontal_Property_Act.pdf

https://www.consumer.sc.gov/consumer-resources/consumer-complaints

I have used in my home state the Consumer Affairs and they actually took their time but they did resolve an issue for me without having lawyers involved. It was not a condo item. I was pleasantly surprised and got a financial reward out of the process.

I think this could be another viable option to pursue.

All of the above is incorrect.
From page 2 of the above:

"The Department of Consumer Affairs is to take and collect specific data on HOA complaints, compile and share the
data with the Governor and the General Assembly each year. The law specifically prohibits the agency from serving as
an arbiter of disputes.
"

The SC Horizontal Property Act is clear at ยง 27-31-170 that the only recourse an aggrieved SC condo owner has is to go to court.

Though I suppose one can always try mediation or maybe arbitration.

Mediate what in this case? We can not even figure out what the issue truly is. The OP will not even go get a copy of the rules/documents on file. They have no argument in the courts eyes. Laughed out of court.

Thanks Ellen for posting the correction here also. I don't see too many other options for Dawn based on what we know at this point.
