Some Monty Python like humor: The setting was at the recent board meeting of a small POA where one of the agenda items was to announce a vacancy on the ACC. The following dialog took place as the ACC chairman was giving updates on what the ACC has been doing:

ACC Chairman: With Bert, the previous ACC chairman, being appointed to the Board, I became the chairman, and with Bert having to get off the ACC, there was a vacancy. Cedric, our new neighbor was interested, so I put him on the ACC.

Board president interrupts: You do not have the authority to appoint people to the ACC. The Board does, and we were planning on announcing a…

ACC chairman interrupts before the president can finish: You don’t like Cedric?

Board president: Cedric is a fine fellow but that is not the point. You do not have the authority to put anyone on the ACC – the Board does and we are going to announce the vacancy and ask for volunteers in an open manner.

ACC Chairman again: You don’t like Cedric?

Excellent, RogerJ : D Having served on an HOA board for a number of years, I guarantee that an exchange like this is NOT uncommon.

I now attend via Zoom. I told a joke at a Zoom meeting but no one laughed. I am not even remotely funny

One of my big pet peeves right there. Protect people’s privacy? Absolutely. But PMC’s default position seems to be don’t tell homeowners anything.
