Our small HOA (16 single family homes) was established in 1988. Since establishment the address for the HOA has been a P.O. Box. This is not only inconvenient, but not acceptable for some vendors, who require a "physical address." (In those cases, I give them mine).

I contacted our local Zoning department and requested a physical address be assigned. Their position is that the HOA is not a "parcel," and therefore cannot be assigned an address. I can clearly show in the state's (Maryland) real property tax records, the HOA is indeed a parcel, and of course we pay city taxes on that land. The city has emailed the Postmaster, and asked her to solve the problem. How she would do that is beyond me; we need a physical address for legal documents, and USPS does not create addresses. Local governments do.

Anyone run into a similar problem and (ideally) did get authorities to issue a physical address?

let me know if you find out. I installed a mailbox at our park entrance and then went to USPS to enroll in email notification of mail. however, the address was not able to be enrolled. Called the post master 8 months ago and nothing yet.

If you don't have a physical address, you should have an address for the HOA's registered agent. This is often the HOA's attorney. In my state, this info appears on the Secretary of State's website where they have information about corporations that are registered to do business in the state.
