Regarding Florida Statue 720-303, is it allowable to bring up an item for conversation that was briefly discussed at the prior months meeting for discussion and clarification only and no vote or resolution? Thank you

Technically, you are only supposed to discuss what is specifically called out on the agenda. If you were to put the item on the agenda under "old business", then you could speak about it. So no, if your board was following the statute to the letter, you could not have a discussion on something not on the agenda.

Our board does follow the agenda and allow brief discussion from the audience on each agenda item, which is required by FS 720. We also allow open discussion at the end of the meeting. We don't have to do this under the statute. We could not vote on any item discussed in that section of the meeting.

My question is why you don't just ask your board or your PM for clarification? Why do you need to wait until a board meeting to bring it up?

Are you on the Board, Robert? If so, why not put the time back on the agenda?

What happened to the item that was "brief discussed" at the last meeting? Was it "postponed" by the Board ? Was there simply no interest among directors so it was just dropped? Was IT on that meeting's agenda?

If you cannot get it on the next board meeting's agenda, bring it up at the open forum or open discussion that perhaps your board permits, and ask that it be placed on th next agenda.
