Follow up on the animal situation in my new neighborhood. I previously posted that there was 3 options when find a pet loose. 1. Post to find the owner. 2. Put up a fence. 3. Call animal control.
It looks like someone took my advice. They called the police on a neighbor. One that dogs does have a history of escaping. (The owners have taken steps to prevent it but dog learned to dig...) Anyways, they do not have grass in backyard due to bad sod we all got. So they will wash their dogs out front and then put them in the garage or tied up in front yard while they dry. They are chained to their yard. Sometimes put into a crate.
Well we got a big storm. The dogs were tied up in their garage with door open. The owner was cleaning a pet's cage inside. Dogs were in the garage drying off. Someone decided to call the police on them!
Now I am not a fan of tying up or putting a dog on a chain etc... However, these dogs were IN their house garage! They were not being nuisance or out of their yard. Now IMO this is a bit too far to call the police to report. Is that just me?
It doesn't look like the police took any action. Just came by to talk to them. So it does look like the advice to contact authorities worked. However, it really crazy how little it takes for someone around here reacts to contact authorities...
