I am interested in any experiences where HOA's charge for common area washers and dryers using Mobile App payment options. I've attempted to search the data base without luck, but if there is a thread that I have missed, and could be pointed to, I'd happily check that out. Otherwise, if anyone has experience with solutions such as ShinePay, WASH, PayRange, Coin-O-Matic etc, I would greatly appreciate hearing your feedback/advice.

many thanks, Gene

We're not allowed to mention specific vendors on this website, but if those vendors are in your area, why not ask them for HOA referrals and check them?

But first, consider why you want them. Is it because they may be safer than machines that only accept coins and therefore may be at higher risk for theft? Is Is because more people are using apps to pay for all types of services like Venmo, CashApp or Apple Pay. Do you have any numbers as to how many people use them, compared to those who don't? What will you do about older homeowners who don't use these apps? How do you prevent people from installing "skimmers" which steal credit or debit cards?

Maybe it would be better to find a vendor who will install these machines and maintain them, and the HOA could charge a rental fee that could cover utilities. You might talk to a local laundromat and see if the manager has any suggestions or perhaps they can put in a bid.

One of the properties I once patrolled has no coil laundry. The vendor that supplies the washers and dryers installed cashless system. You get the chip card from the laundry vendor
or one is sent to you when you set up an account. You pay for it online with a savings or checking account. Just like the chip credit card you pay with at the grocery store, you pay for
a load of wash with the chip card.
