I may be missing something, but is there a way to search discussions for a specific search criteria, i.e. HOA management company names?
Thanks

What Michael said.

There are conversations on how some HOAs found their current management company, so you may want to read a few to pick up some ideas on what to look for. They are old conversations (check the date of the first post) - if it's not in 2023, there's no point in responding to them.

As for specific companies, there may be people posting who are from your state, so they could send you a private message on their impressions. Otherwise, start Googling HOA management companies in your area, pick a few (at least three) and contact them to see where you should send a request for proposal (RFP). You should check your documents to see what the association's responsible for, as that will help determine what you want the property manager to do. Everyone should get the same RFP so you're comparing apples to apples.

From there you can ask for references of current or former clients and talk to them for their impressions. Try to pick at least three HOAs that are similar in size and services to your own (apple-apple comparison again). There is also an information brochure on the CAI website (community association institute) which you be able to read online or order for free or a nominal fee. There may also be a directory of HOA management companies that are members - that could be a way to find out who's in your area, and then you can do your due diligence as listed above. Good luck!

Shelia, you always deliver simple, but excellent advice. I hope to be using it in the near future. Thanks.
