Especially when most golf members bringing guests to play. The other key element is the frequent large outside events with no advanced list of attendees

What in the world are you talking about and do you have a question?

I have seen a couple of systems like that - pretty cool. At the gate, you have 2 lanes, one for residents and one for guests, etc. The guest lane has to stop at a Kiosk (think ordering at the drive thru at a fast food place) where you are connected 'virtually' to a call center where the 'virtual guard' can talk/see you and give you access through the gate. (so basically you save money by not have a person actually manning the gate)

This requires the member owner to upload the visitors information beforehand. It definitely helps the guard stationed at the guardhouse.

I apologize for the incomplete post. I believe virtual guards may have a place for many communities. Using the situations similar to my community, I was hoping to hear what others experienced by replacing on site guards with victuals, primarily acceptance by the residents and clubhouse management. Were there any regrets and did you save the money that was anticipated.

We got bids for this type of system since we have unmanned gates and thought this would give us an upgrade. However, it was extremely expensive and just too much for us. We also had objections because you have to submit your driver's license and that's not popular with everyone.

I have asked members of the boards from nearby communities that use the virtual guard system and have had mixed reviews. Some like it, others say it can have a lot of issues. I don't have any details.
